Two youngsters die in freak accident in Bachupally

Hyderabad: In a freak mishap, two youngsters died after the bike they were riding rammed into a stray cow near Dr. Reddy Labs in Bachupally here on Saturday morning. The cow too died in the mishap.

The victims were identified as Mohd. Javed (21) and Anand Reddy (19), both degree first year students of Pragathi Degree College in Kukatpally.

According to the Bachupally police, around 9 am, the duo was coming on a bike from Pragathi Nagar towards Bachupally when the mishap occurred. While Javed was driving, Anand was riding pillion. When they reached near Dr. Reddy’s Lab, a stray cow suddenly came on the road ahead of them.

“Javed lost control of the bike and went on to hit the cow. Javed and Anand fell on the road and suffered grievous bleeding injuries and died on the spot. The cow too was badly injured in the mishap and died,” police said.

The Bachupally police booked a case and are investigating. They examined the mishap site.

The bodies were shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue and were later handed over to the families after an autopsy later in the day.
