Two youngsters rescue woman from committing suicide in Karimnagar

The 40-year-old woman, a Karimnagar resident, jumped into the canal in a suicide attempt following family issues.

Police are shifting woman onto the hospital stretcher from police vehicle in Karimnagar.

Karimnagar: In a brave act, two youngsters eived into the Kakatiya Canal near Alugunur to rescue a woman from being washed away on Wednesday. The 40-year-old woman, a Karimnagar resident, jumped into the canal in a suicide attempt following family issues.

Sundaragiri Sathish and Dundram Yellaiah, who noticed the woman jumping into the canal and being washed away, took the leap into the water and rescued her at around 8 am. They immediately informed the police about the incident.

LMD Sub-Inspector Krishna Reddy and Blue Colt home guard Laxminarayana rushed to the spot and shifted the woman to a private hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

The SI appreciated the youngsters for showing the courage to jump into the canal and rescue the woman.
