Riyadh: A Telangana Umrah pilgrim just prior to returning home died at the airport and was buried on Saturday in Saudi Arabia. Shaikh Ismail, native of Adilabad town, was in Saudi Arabia along with his relatives to preform Umrah. Umrah is a minor pilgrimage when compared to the annual Haj. Muslims visit the Grand Mosque known as Masjid e Haram in Mecca.
The 60-year-old performed Umrah and visited Madina and other holy sites in Saudi Arabia along with his relatives. He was scheduled to return to Hyderabad on Thursday night and was in King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah where he collapsed after completing boarding formalities. He died on the spot due to cardiac arrest.
After completing legal formalities, the deceased was buried on Saturday at Jeddah, according to sources.
