Earlier, Rao went around the town to monitor the garbage collection activity in the colonies. He showed workers on how to segregate wet and dry garbage. After noticing a woman dumping vegetables and leftover food in the dry garbage bin, Rao sensitised her on what exactly dry and wet garbage means.
He also underlined the importance of segregating garbage at doorstep, which would help them to restrict the garbage reaching dump yards. When he noticed stored water in some containers in the 6th ward, Rao called upon the citizens to clean the houses every Sunday at 10 am so that they can keep their own houses clean and hygienic which eventually would control breeding of mosquitoes, flies and also diseases.
