Hyderabad: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) has conducted a nine-week special course in English Language Proficiency for officials from Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine as part of International Training Programme. The university organised a valedictory function of the course which was attended by Dr. TV Nagendra Prasad, Joint Secretary (Gulf), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Prof E Suresh Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, EFLU.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Prasad said the philosophy of MEA strongly believes in ‘Universal Family’ and is ready to share its expertise with the friendly countries, especially in the areas of capacity building, sustainable development and renewable energy etc. He urged participants to use the language expertise in their professional development and to be the cultural ambassadors of India in their respective countries.
Dr. Prasad congratulated the international participants on their successful completion of the course. Prof. E Suresh Kumar, in his presidential address advised the participants to develop positive thinking by ‘Positive Auto Suggestion’ to be successful in life. He exhorted the students to continue practising the skills they have acquired at the university and congratulated the participants on successful completion of the programme.
He announced that an exclusive gymnasium, a recreation centre, a food joint with intercontinental cuisine, 24×7 pharmacy, multi-sports complex and an open-air amphitheatre will be constructed and be made available shortly for students and international participants.
The MEA has empanelled the EFLU as one of the Institutes under Indian Technical and Economic Programme/ Special Commonwealth Assistance for Africa Programme (ITEC/ SCAAP) to conduct courses for developing English language proficiency of the international participants.
