Hyderabad: Revolutionary writer Pendyala Varavara Rao’s wife P. Hemalatha on Saturday demanded that the Central government release him on bail in view of his health condition.
Rao, who was lodged at Taloja jail in Navi Mumbai, was admitted to the JJ Hospital on Friday. In a letter to the Centre, the Telangana and Maharashtra governments, she expressed concern over the health condition of Rao who is suffering from various ailments.
She demanded that the government release Rao who was lodged in the jail after he was arrested in 2018 in connection with a case related to Bhima-Koregaon clashes. She also urged Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy to take the responsibility of getting him released.
