Vegetable vendor from Karimnagar solves Rubik’s Cube in a jiffy

Not only Rubik's cube, he got number of gold, silver and bronze medals in participating in various competitions such as running, swimming, boxing and kick boxing, karate, kung Fu and Teakwondo.

Karimnagar: People ranging from school kids to retirees usually struggle for hours together to solve Rubik’s cube. For some, it takes hours and some take days to solve it while some, despite their efforts, would not get succeed. But, when it comes to Rapelli Srinivas, it is a piece of cake to solve the world’s most popular 3-D combinatioin puzzle within a minute. Not only one, he can solve two cubes simultaneously in a record time. What interesting about vegetable vendor is he can solve the puzzle with blindfold too.

It took six months for Rapelli Srinivas to learn how to solve Rubik’s cube with blindfold. A vegetable vendor by profession, Srinivas won gold medal by solving the cube within one minute in a competition held in Mumbai in 2016. Not only Rubik’s cube, he got number of gold, silver and bronze medals in participating in various competitions such as running, swimming, boxing and kick boxing, karate, kung Fu and Teakwondo.

Impressed by the lifestyle of Bruce Lee, Srinivas attracted towards various forms of martial arts right from his childhood and underwent training in Karate, Kung fu and others. He won about 300 medals by participating in district, State and national level events.

A resident of Kothirampur, Srinivas sells vegetables near Venkateshwara temple market in Karimnagar town. Few months ago, Srinivas entered Guinness  Book of World Records by walking 137.1 metre distance on toes in a minute time. Srinivas, who went through six months of rigorous practice to achieve the target, is planning to better his own record by walking 200 metre target within the same time.

Speaking to the Telangana Today, Srinivas said it took six months of time to walk 137.1 meter distance on toes. He was practicing to walk 200 meter in same time. Since he comes from poor background, Srinivas seeking support from State government to reach several of such achievements.
