Hyderabad: The logos of the ten teams that will compete in the Hyderabad Cricket Association-conducted February 3-21 Phase 2 Super League of the G Venkataswamy Memorial T20 tournament was launched by President G Vivekanand at the Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium in Uppal on Friday.

Former legendary cricketers Kapil Dev and VVS Laxman will be the chief guests for the inauguration of the tournament.

Speaking at the event, Vivekanand said that the tournament is a good platform for rural cricketers to showcase their talent which lacked the attention so far. “We are conducting this tournament under the guidelines of BCCI and in coordination with Anti-Corruption Bureau. TTL will provide a platform for district cricketers.

“We are also planning to live stream the matches through Youtube. The format will have 49 matches and will be held at Gymkhana, Siddipet, MLR Grounds, AOC and Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. The inaugural match will be held on February 3,” he said.
The winners will take home Rs 15 lakh in the Rs 40-lakh prize money tournament. The third-placed team will be richer Rs 5 lakh along with Man of the Match and Man of the Series trophies.

Vice president Anil Kumar said that their main aim is to unearth talent through this tournament.
TTL director Agam Rao said that the first match will be held between Medak and Ranga Reddy teams at 8 pm after the inaugural ceremony which will be held from 4.30 pm on February 3. “Few matches will also be held in Siddipet and promote the game and the matches will be telecast live,” he added.
