For the first time in his career that spanned more than three decades, a Venkatesh-starrer, Venky Mama, is set on to be released on his birthday, December 13. People’s Media Factory collaborated with Suresh Productions to produce a wholesome family entertainer with Victory Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles.
Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput shared the screen opposite the heroes. In a media interaction, Suresh Babu described the film as one about relationships in the family presenting all the angles. “Venky Mama speaks about sentiments and bonds in a family relationship. Love and sacrifice blended with emotions go hand-in-hand in the story. During the making of this film, I remembered my uncle Surendra. I believe that it will be the same experience for everyone in theatres. Every person in life will definitely have a loving uncle to remember,” he said.
While the first half is replete with entertainment, the second half showcases emotional drama. Shooting was held partly in Rajahmundry and Kashmir. “We didn’t face any problem during the 25-day schedule. Army officers, and government officials encouraged us. We even employed a few people from Kashmir as line producers. I am sharing this information with our industry to ease out the minds so that shootings will pace up there,” Suresh shared.
Director Bobby shared that it was great a learning time with Suresh Babu. “To my luck, Suresh Babu has endorsed my first version of the script. Venky Mama must have been made well before F2. But, we have taken more time to attain perfection. Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya showed interest for each other’s characters. The film came out very well and will surely entertain all sections of audience,” Bobby said.
Venkatesh spoke in a comic way with a shivering voice and heaved a sigh of relief when the release date was annoucned by his producer-brother Suresh Babu. “It is not very easy to handle scripts of this kind. Bobby did it skilfully. There were a number of films in my career. But, Venky Mama is a different experience altogether with Chaitanya. My dad always wanted this combination to happen. I gift this film to my loving dad. Chaitanya excelled in every scene and emoted fantastically well,” Venkatesh said.
Naga Chaitanya sounded quite sentimental about his combination with his uncle, Venkatesh. He said that the two films, Manam and Venky Mama would remain as the best experiences for him, forever.
