Hyderabad: A brave-heart, Major Prafulla Ambadas Moharkar along with three of his men – Sepoy Pargat Singh, Lance Naik Gurmail Singh, and Lance Naik Kuldeep Singh – were martyred while giving a befitting reply to Pakistani troops which violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

Even as the news of the martyred major broke, a video of a CRPF major from Bastar surfaced on the internet creating confusion among netizens.

In the video that did the rounds, the CRPF Officer, who was grievously wounded, continued to lead his team with instructions. This hero’s brave act, however, was mistook by the netizens to the last words of Major Prafulla, who martyred in the Keri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

The video was shared hundreds of times, even by retired military officers too.

In the video, the CRPF major can be heard saying “ensure the safety of all the men who have been injured… inform the headquarters about the attack, and keep firing single shots. There’s no shortage of ammunition. Also let Six Delta know that they are in command of the operation now”.

While his men kept requesting him to rest and stop tiring himself by helping them get through the crisis, Major Prafulla did not pause and kept reeling out instructions on how to deal with the situation. In the last few moments of the video, he can be heard saying: “Light a fire and raise a smoke to indicate our location to the helicopters called in for help. There should not be a cross fire from our party, do not go ahead and get injured… Ensure the safety of those injured.”

Though it created an initial confusion, the video of the CRPF jawan is now winning hearts while wrenching them, both at once.

Meanwhile Major Prafulla’s body was sent to Paoni in Bhandara district in Maharashtra and is survived by wife Aboli Moharkar. His last rites were performed with full military honours at his village on Monday.
