Karimnagar: It has become a regular practice for people to pledge their votes for Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidates in the coming Assembly elections. Going a step forward, people of some villages are donating money to candidates either to file nomination papers or for election expenditure.

People in some villages in Choppadandi constituency have passed resolutions requesting TRS high command to allocate ticket to former MLA from the segment Bodige Shobha. In 2014, Shobha was elected as MLA on TRS party ticket and served the constituency for four years. However, her name did not figure in the list of 105 candidates announced by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao after dissolving the State Assembly.

The announcement of the candidate for the segment has been kept pending. Though her nomination is not confirmed, Shobha continues to campaign in the constituency.
