Villament, new trend in Hyderabad

It is blend of apartment and villa, giving owners best of both cultures

Hyderabad: There was a time when single bedroom flats were considered a revolution in the domestic housing sector. Then came the two bedrooms and the three bedrooms. With the changing times, row houses too became popular and villas mushroomed in different parts of the city.

Now, a new concept, villament, is catching up in the city. As the name indicates, this is a blend of an apartment and a villa, giving owners the best of both cultures. It goes without saying that these are luxurious homes offering huge spaces and all amenities for the owners.

Generally, villaments come in three, four or more bedroom houses. They offer a private garden, terrace and in some projects even private garages. While, these could definitely offer the luxury quotient to the owners, other amenities such as clubhouse, gymnasium, swimming pools and other facilities are also provided.

Besides offering the best of the facilities, the USP of villaments is privacy and exclusivity. In a conventional apartment, many flats are constructed per floor and in other cases the structures can be towering, especially to accommodate more flats.

On the contrary, villaments are different. Very limited units are constructed in a project, focusing on offering the best of the facilities without compromising on the provision of amenities. While apartments can be too crowded, independent homes can be too secluded. In such context, security could be a challenge. For buyers who wish to have some neighbourhood to beat the boredom and at the same time ensure some privacy, villaments could be the choice.

The concept is already catching up in Bengaluru, Chennai and other metros, and, Hyderabad is not far behind. Pooja Crafted Homes Private Limited is developing one project near Neknampur Lake at Narsingi. The area of these 3-BHK duplex units ranges from 2,193 square feet to 3,557 square feet. The base price per square feet is Rs 5,800 and depending on the amenities, utilities, parking etc, the cost of units vary from Rs 1.46 crore to Rs 2.29 crore.

Extra charges per square feet will be collected for units facing towards the lake and for those facing east. In all, 132 aesthetically designed villaments are being constructed at the site. Regarding specifications, name the facility and you have it in here. Centralised air conditioning, centralised garbage chute, digital locks, rainwater harvesting and drip irrigation systems are just a few to mention. The highlight, they say, is the double-height sit outs in the units.
