Hyderabad: Telangana State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B Vinod Kumar on Tuesday urged the University of Hyderabad (UoH) to reschedule dates of entrance examinations for various courses, scheduled to be held from September 24 to 26.

In a letter addressed to UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof Appa Rao Podile, Vinod Kumar said the final year/final semester examinations for students of various State universities are being conducted from September 22 to October 13, which will coincide with the UoH entrance examinations.

Vinod Kumar, who also sent the letter to University Grants Commission (UGC), said conducting multiple exams simultaneously would cause loss to the academic year for students. Besides, it would be difficult for them to appear for multiple exams simultaneously.

Even, the National Testing Agency has scheduled the UGC National Eligibility Test from September 24, he said.

Considering the situation and in the larger interest of students, he urged the UoH to change the entrance examination dates. He reminded that the UoH was established as part of the Telangana Statehood movement and in accordance with Six-Point formula, Article 371 (D), and in line with the aspirations of the people of Telangana.
