Hyderabad: A day after the Mir Alam Park was thrown open to public, visitors who arrived at the park on Sunday were not permitted to get into the park and were sent back by the guards.
Riyaz, who visited the park, was one among many who were refused entry into the much awaited lung-space in the old city. Taking to twitter, he said, “Watchman told the park is closed and may take four to five days to open it for public. Came with lot of expectations”. He added that many others too had come but had to return without entering the park.

Responding to Riyaz’s tweet, GHMC Serilingampally Zonal Commissioner D Harichandana tweeted “Its open. Please go and enjoy,”.

Extending apologies, GHMC officials added that there was some miscommunication. The park will be opened from 5 am to 8.30 am for morning walkers (entry free) and for other visitors, it will remain open from 9 am to 7.30 pm, they informed.

After Imlibun Park, Mir Alam Park is the second largest park in Charminar Zone, providing the much-need green lung space in old city.
