Sangareddy: Sangareddy Collector M Hanumantha Rao has said the district administration had conducted a number of awareness programmes in urban areas, particularly in places where voter turnout was low when compared to rural parts in the past.
Speaking to the media at Ambedkar Stadium in Sangareddy on Thursday, the Collector said the administration conducted a number of sensitisation programmes in urban areas during the past one month. He hoped that the voting would considerably improve this time around.
He said they created a peaceful environment to increase the voting percentage across the district. Stating that the district had 11.43 lakh voters in five Assembly constituencies, Rao said they have appointed sector officers by dividing these constituencies and 1,479 polling stations into 144 sectors to decentralise the administration.
Stating that they had made all arrangements to help the disabled to vote without any hurdles, he further said that they had set up five women managed polling stations in the district this time. The Collector has visited all the five constituencies to monitor the arrangements. He had interacted with the election staff to know their issues.
