Waiting hall inaugurated at Parvatipuram railway station in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: In fulfillment of a budget promise to provide more passenger amenities, Union Minister for Railways, Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, commissioned new waiting hall and dormitory for women and men at Parvatipuram railway station of Waltair Division of East Coast Railway through remote video link from Rail Bhavan, in New Delhi on Saturday.

AP Minister for Mines and Geology Venkata Sujai Krishna Ranga Rao, MLCs G Srinivasulu Naidu, Gummadi Sandhya Rani, and Dwarapureddi Jagadeeswara Rao, chairperson of Parvatipuram Municipality D Sreedevi attended the function at Parvatipuram.

The new building consists of waiting halls and dormitories for women and men, upper class waiting hall, pay and use toilets, and retiring rooms. The total project cost around Rs 12 crore.

High speed Wi-Fi launched

Another budget promise of providing Wi-Fi facility was also fulfilled as part of expanding amenities for passengers at major railway stations in the country. Prabhu launched the ‘High Speed Wi-Fi’ facility at Srikakulam railway station of Waltair Division of East Coast Railway through remote video link from Rail Bhavan, in New Delhi.

AP Power Minister K Kala Venkata Rao, and chairperson of Amadalavalasa Municipality T Geetha attended the function at Srikakulam Road Railway station.
