Hyderabad: Minorities Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar has on asserted that Government would initiate all measures to protect Wakf properties and ensure that the properties were not illegally occupied.
Chairing a high-level meeting to review the protection of Wakf properties here on Saturday, the Minister asked the officials to create a department of survey in the Wakf Board so that properties could be surveyed and identified paving way for their protection. He suggested that an assistant director level officer from the Survey Settlement of Land Records could be taken to the Wakf Board on deputation.
He asked officials to take Hyderabad as a case study and survey all the Wakf properties. The report could be intimated to the government in three months. He also asked the officials to identify land sites for starting Minorities Residential Schools. Wakf Board chairman Saleem, Minorities Welfare advisor AK Khan and Minorities welfare department director Shanawaz Qasim attended the meeting, an official press release said.
