Hyderabad: German laboratory solutions company Waldner GmbH which has set up its Indian subsidiary three years ago in Mumbai is planning to establish its footprint and expand its operations in Hyderabad this year.
The company serves organisations such as Dr Reddy’s, Lupin, Nestle, Loreal, Michelin, IIT, Cipla, Unichem, Zydus and Tata Cancer Hospital.
Waldner CEO Joerg Hoffmann, said, “The Indian R&D market is expecting an exponential growth and Waldner is planning to establish joint ventures locally to cater to the growing market. We see opportunities in pharma, biotech and clinical research labs.”
Waldner has an arrangement with an original equipment manufacturer in Baroda and is scouting for more such options across India.
Saying Telangana government has rolled out proactive policies for industry, Hyderabad has emerged as a key R&D hub and Waldner will create a team in the city to serve the life sciences industry here. “With the Genome Valley cluster, it is logical for us to set up our team here. We could move some of the activities and capabilities from Germany to Mumbai and Hyderabad, going forward,” he added.
