Wanaparthy: With the South-West monsoon all set to enter the State, Haritha Haram plantation programme has unofficially been kicked-off by the Forest Department, as thousands of free saplings were distributed to the people of Wanaparthy at Government Polytechnic College grounds on Saturday.

During the Telangana formation day celebrations held in Wanaparthy, special attraction was the Forest Department’s stall. Many varieties of fruit-bearing and other varieties of saplings were distributed free of cost by forest officials.

Many people who went to attend the flag-hoisting ceremony left with a sapling or two from the venue. Children were very excited to go and plant the saplings at their houses, as it had started raining in Wanaparthy moments after the flag-hoisting.
