Warangal Urban: Quickly responding to a tweet alleging that some anti-social elements were forcing them to withdraw a criminal case, Minister KT Rama Rao, has on Saturday, asked the Warangal police to probe and initiate action promptly.

A twitter user Palakala Amarnath Reddy used the micro-blogging site to draw attention of Minister KT Rama Rao that a gang of 30 anti-social elements had attacked his father when the latter questioned illegal occupation of his land. The gang was taking KTR’s name and threatening them to withdraw the police, Reddy complained in his tweet on Sunday morning. Instantly responding to the tweet, the TRS working president tweeted back tagging the Warangal Urban Commissioner V Ravinder to ‘verify facts and immediately file a criminal case’. He thanked Amarnath Reddy for bringing the issue to his notice.

Speaking to Telangana Today, Amarnath Reddy said that they nearly 30 people led by one Vengal Rao and Rajesh Varma had thrashed  his father Vijayender Reddy severely, when the latter questioned about illegal encroachment of their 162 yards of the land located on the side of the national highway on Hyderabad-Bhopalpatnam route, about 12 km away from Warangal city.

“My father sustained fractures in his ribs and is now being treated in Guardian hospital” Amarnath Reddy said. He alleged that the realtors had encroached upon their land and laid a road to the venture developed in about seven acres by them.  “Though the police approached us and took the complaint from my father after the attack, some people suspected to be the followers of the realtors are threatening us to withdraw the compliant and come for settlement,” he alleged. They were also threatening that a case under SC/ST prevention of atrocities act against his father.

When contacted, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder said he was enquiring into the case and trying to get case details.
