Warangal Urban: People visiting the ration shops, super markets and vegetable markets are following directives of the government that everyone should maintain social distancing to check the spread of the Coronavirus. As the ration shops have started distributing the rice to the white ration card holders in the city, people are following the social distancing at these shops.

Even at the groceries shops people are seen maintaining social distancing. At a shop in Gokul Nagar, people wearing the masks or the hand kerchiefs are standing at a minimum of one metre distance, while the owner of the shop is spraying the sanitizer on the tables. Duddula Srinivas, who visited the groceries shop at Gokul Nagar, has appreciated the owner of the shop and also appealed to the public to maintain social distancing for the benefit the people. “It is our responsibility to follow the social distancing to check the spread of the virus,” he added.

Meanwhile, District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and GWMC commissioner Pamela Satpathy have visited the ration shops as well as the vegetable markets in several parts of the city to know whether the vendors are selling the vegetables at the actual prices or at higher prices. They warned that stringent action would be taken against those who sell the essential commodities at the exorbitant prices.
