Warangal Rural district free of Covid-19 infections

A total of 100 people returned from foreign countries and as many as 1763 inter-state travellers have been traced in the district, but no one tested positive for the Covid-19.

Warangal Rural/Mulugu: Though every district carved out of the erstwhile Warangal district recorded Covid-19 positive case, Warangal Rural district is the only one that has recorded no positive case so far much to the relief of the official machinery and the people. Narsampet and Parkal municipalities come under the Warangal Rural district.

According to District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) Dr Ch Madhusudhan, a total of 100 people returned from foreign countries and as many as 1763 inter-state travellers have been traced in the district.

“Fortunately, no one tested positive for the Covid-19. However, we are taking all steps to see that no one is infected with the respiratory disease,” he said. The district machinery has set up three quarantine facilities with a total bed capacity of 500. They have also set up three isolation wards at the government hospitals with a bed capacity of 21. The DMHO said that they had formed a total of 417 medical teams to conduct health checks up to the foreign returned and inter-state travellers. “Though 13 blood samples of the suspects have been sent for the tests, all of them tested negative for the Covid-19,” he added.

Meanwhile, two Covid-19 patients from Mulugu district have been cured and discharged from Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad, on Tuesday. Following this, the officials have also shifted the family members of the infected persons to their homes. With this, there is no active positive case in the Mulugu district. On the other hand, one Covid-19 patient from Gaddigudem village of Mahabubabad, who underwent treatment at Gandhi Hospital, has also recovered and has been discharged from the hospital much to the relief of the residents of Mahabubabad district.
