Warangal Rural: Open defecation free (ODF) villages in the district would be sanctioned Rs 3 to 5 lakh funds as an incentive and they can be used for taking up some developmental works, said Collector Prashat J Patil.

The District Rural Development Officer (DRDO) Y Shekar Reddy and tahsildar Gurram Srinivas visited Manugoonda, Chandraiahpally, Mariapur and Arepally villages in Geesugonda mandal. Patil appreciated people of these villages for constructing Individual Sanitary Latrines (ISL) in all the households.

Asking the people not to go for open defecation, he asked them as to when they announce their villages as complete ODF villages. The sarpanches said that they would announce their villages as ODF by December 30.

Meanwhile, DRDO Shekar Reddy urged the villagers to construct the soak pits at their houses as Rs 4,000 crore would be sanctioned for soak pits under the NREGS.
