Warangal Urban: Sulakshya Seva Samithi , as part of its objective of providing basic needs distributed rice, groceries, hand wash liquids and medicines to the 30 animal keepers working in Kakatiya Zoo, Warangal, on Wednesday.
The animal keepers have been staying at the zoo for the last 20 days to take care of the animals due to the lockdown imposed by the government to check the pandemic COVID-19.
Founder president of the organization Santhosh Manduva said: “We have been helping migrant workers, daily wage earners, slum dwellers, rag pickers, underprivileged children and elderly destitute who are having a difficult time making both ends meet. We feel it is our minimum responsibility to provide sustenance for those who got affected in this crunch situation.”
“With the money we raised from friends, we are donating dry ration kits, food packets and masks. Rice, dal, oil, aata, salt, turmeric, chilli powder, tamarind, biscuits, soaps, potatoes, onions, detergent, handwash, disinfectant liquid and other required basic essentials are part of one dry ration kit. We are taking all required permissions, touring across the city and distributing the required material based on phone calls we receive from various sources,” Satnthosh added.
Deputy Range Officer Balakrishna Kokkula, Section officer Ramdas, Vikas Uttamaraju and Kodam Vinay were present.
