Warangal Urban: In yet another creation, popular micro artist and sculptor from Warangal Mattewada Ajay Kumar sculpted 10 freedom fighters in the eye of the needle, coinciding with the 73rd Independence Day. One can see these wax sculptures only through a microscope.

Figures of noted freedom fighters Chandrashekar Azad, Balagangadhara Tilak, BR Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, Subash Chandra Bose, Vallabhai Patel, Alluri Sitharamaraju, Bhagat Singh, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Sarojini Naidu have been sculpted with minute details.

Speaking to ‘Telangana Today’, Ajay Kumar said, “I have created these sculptures with minute details like their attire, physical features and weapons they carry. For example, Chandrashekar Azad can be seen twirling his mustache, while Subashchandra Bose is seen saluting. All others can be recognised easily as they were sculpted with fine skill. Mahatma Gandhi is seen with a walking stick in his right and with a book in his left hand. Subhash Chandra Bose is in saluting posture wearing Army medals and shoes, Alluri Sitarama Raju with bow, arrow and a quiver> Meanwhile, Nehru can be seen releasing a dove wearinf a topi(cap) and Sarojini Naidu cladded in a saree of different shades,” he said. “It took me 67 hours in over a stretch of 27 days to complete these art works,” he added. The height of these statues ranges from 1.09 mm to 0.80 mm and width from 0.24 mm to 0.15 mm.
