Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday assured medical and health personnel that the State government would firmly stand by them in case they face difficulties.

Rao, who held a high-level review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan on measures taken to prevent spread of Coronavirus in the State, said: “Medical and Health staff are rendering great services to prevent spread of Coronavirus, giving treatment to those afflicted by the disease. The government is specially focusing on the protection of the staff. Special measures have been taken for the protection of their health,” he said.

He said that adequate number of test kits, PPEs, masks and medicines were available. “Even if there is increase in the number of patients in future, PPEs and masks will be procured as per the demand,” he said.

He wanted funds donated to the CMRF to be utilised for procurement of PPEs, masks and medicines for the staff. He wanted an action plan to be chalked out in case of a spurt in number of cases.

“The government will continue with its efforts to bring the spread of Coronavirus under control in the State with more dedication. Those who have symptoms of Coronavirus are being treated and those who come in contact with such people are also being quarantined,” he said.

Health Minister Eatala Rajender, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, DGP Mahender Reddy, Principal Secretaries Narsing Rao, Shanta Kumari, Ramakrishna Rao and others participated in the meeting.
