The building has recently  undergone a major renovation project

The structure is now open for cultural events, meetings, photo and film shoots on a rental basis

The building was constructed under the direction of James Achilles Kirkpatrick in 1803

It was designed by Lt. Samuel Russell of Madras Engineers and built by Indian craftsmen

It got a new lease of life after the restoration project that took 10 years and Rs.17 crore

Interpretation Centre is set up on the first floor of the building

It gives a peek into history of the British Residency

In audio-visual room, visitors can watch a movie on how the Residency was established

An entry fee of Rs 200 will be charged for foreigners, Rs 100 for locals and Rs 50 for students
