India's ace Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra clinched a Silver medal at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
The 24-year-old is the first Indian male to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships.
Anju Bobby George was the first Indian (women) to do so at the World Athletics Championship. She won Bronze in 2003 in Paris.
Neeraj fouled in his first attempt, then posted 82.39m in the second round and 86.37m in the third.
However, his fourth round throw of 88.13m gave him an emphatic victory.
Anderson Peters retained his title with a huge throw of 90.54m while Jukub Vadlejch won Bronze with 88.9m.
Impressed by the performance, PM Narendra Modi lauded Neeraj Chopra on social media.
