Standing crops need irrigation support  for next 45 days   But storage levels in major projects are fast depleting

SRSP has only 31 TMC as against a gross storage of 90.31 TMC About 15 lakh acres of paddy is under SRSP

Sripada Yellampalli project has just 12.98 TMC as against gross storage of 20.18 TMC Must retain up to  15 TMC to meet  drinking water needs

In Krishna basin, both Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar projects have only  74 TMC and 163 TMC left   Net drawable water is hardly 60 TMC, to be shared by both Telugu States

Rabi command of  27.67 lakh acres come under 30-odd major and medium projects These include Sriramsagar, Nizam Sagar, Kaddam, Jurala, Srisailam, NSP and AMR

Rabi operations will last till mid-April. Before the closing of irrigation canals, tanks should be filled to support drinking water supply for rest of the summer
