When Rukhsar Rehman found tranquillity in shoot

The actor shares how she fought depression with meditation and focus on her acting

The versatile actor Rukhsar Rehman is back with VOOT series Gone Game and feels excited to be a part of the thriller. “It was a great learning and indulging experience for me. The opportunity helped me overcome the pandemic depression and stress while focusing on something productive. I tackled the discomfort of lockdown with acting and meditation,” she said.

All the actors of the series shot separately from different locations due to lockdown, which, incidentally, is how the story also unfolds, shares the actor, adding that the show was executed through remote direction, ingenious cinematography and using limited equipment.

Rukhsar is known for playing various roles for three decades in the industry across various platforms. From her debut in Yaad Rakhegi Duniya (1992 ) to her television journey in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Mariam Khan – Reporting Live, she played all the roles with grace. But the comedy genre is the one that excites her the most.

The actor also played roles in movies like God Tussi Great Ho, The Stoneman Murders, Benny and Babloo, Knock Out, Allah Ke Banday, Shaitan, PK, and Uri – The Surgical Strike, among others. She admires the elegance of Meera and wishes to play her role someday.

The Inteha Pyar Ki actor believes that due to some people, social media can be a toxic platform but it depends on us to handle the negatives and indulge in more positive content. “You cannot stop the trolls or haters but you can choose to ignore them,” she concludes.
