Amaravati: Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday questioned YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy as to why the latter wanted to move no-confidence motion against the Central Government if the party had confidence in BJP.

Addressing a tele-conference with the party MPs, he asked the latter to expose the double-speak of the YCP since YCP Rajya Sabha member Vijaysai Reddy had told a national channel that YCP had confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On its part, the TDP had clear stand, and there was no question of compromising on the state’s rights. He urged the party MPs to intensify the struggle in accordance with the wishes of the people. Even if the MPs were suspended from the house, they should not backpedal and should fight it out till the goal was reached, he stated, adding that the Centre should honour its commitments in the Reorganisation Act and the assurances given in the Parliament.

Chandrababu Naidu directed P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and YS Choudhary who resigned from the Central Cabinet to inform everyone as to why they had to quit.

He also wondered why the Centre was selecting complicated routes for release of funds. “Till yesterday they said special assistance measure and now say special purpose vehicle. Why this crooked ways?” he asked.

“Special category status to Andhra Pradesh is our goal. We came out of the Centre and will intensify our struggle in a phased manner,” he said.
