Sangareddy: BJP State President K Laxman urged the State government to provide reservations based on economic status of citizens instead of proposing reservations to Muslims.

Opposing the State government’s decision to provide 12 per cent reservations to Muslims, the BJP State wing launched a signature campaign at a public meeting held near Sangareddy on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, the BJP president termed the proposed reservations by the Government based on religion as against the Constitution.

Laxman further urged Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to withdraw the proposal as it would face opposition from the people, adding that they will conduct a campaign across Telangana to draw support of the people for their campaign.
