Hyderabad: BJP State unit president K Laxman said he will quit politics if Narendra Modi does not become the Prime Minister for a second term.
Addressing the Hyderabad and Secunderabad constituencies’ party workers at a meeting here, Laxman challenged TRS working president K T Rama Rao whether he was ready to quit politics if Narendra Modi becomes the Prime Minister for a second term. “TRS will not make any difference at the Centre even if it wins 16 seats in Telangana because BJP will get enough seats to form the government at the Centre,” he said, adding that a vote for Congress in the State would be a vote for the TRS since Congress leader will anyway join the ruling party.
Stating that Lok Sabha elections were entirely different from Assembly elections, he said people will support Modi to become the Prime Minister again. “When terror struck Mumbai, the then UPA government failed to give a fitting reply to Pakistan or terrorists, but the NDA government launched surgical strikes and airstrike to avenge Uri, Pathankot and Pulwama incidents,” he said.
