Hyderabad: The State government on Thursday accorded permission to wine shop owners for providing bank guarantees by October 26. In a circular issued here, Prohibition and Excise department Commissioner R V Chandravadan said permission has been accorded to all licensing authorities for issue of provisional/regular licence if warranted, subject to condition to ensure receipt of bank guarantees by October 26 duly taking an undertaking.
These decisions were taken in the interest of government revenue and ensure seamless operation and commencement of business. No further extension would be granted for submission of bank guarantees beyond October 26 under any circumstances and suitable action warranted can be initiated, he said. He asked all the district excise officers in the State to take necessary action and ensure quick disposal of licences if any within due period. Any lapses in the matter would be viewed seriously, he warned.
