Hyderabad: Depressed over the failure of her second marriage, a woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at Rein Bazaar.

Habeeba Begum, 35, of Ganganagar in Yakutpura, was staying along with her mother Rafiya Begum, for the last few weeks. Relatives told the police that Habeeba Begum was married to one Munna in 2015, but the man had divorced her later. In July, she married one Imran of Yakutpura. This too did not last long with Habeeba opting out of the relationship, the Rein Bazaar police said.

On November 8, Habeeba Begum took Rs 500 from her mother and went outside saying she was going on some work. “She called up her mother over the phone later and informed her that she had consumed poison and was on the road at Murtuzanagar. Her mother rushed to the spot and shifted her to OGH for treatment where she died early on Tuesday,” the Rein Bazaar police said. A case under Section 174 of CrPC was registered.
