Kothagudem: Women should give priority to self-employment instead of seeking employment somewhere else, suggested Kothagudem District Industries Manager T Seetharam said on Thursday.

He was addressing women who completed their tailoring and beautician courses offered free of cost by Nava Bharat Women Empowerment Centre as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of Paloncha based Nava Bharat Ventures Limited.

Seetharam presented certificates to a group of 50 women and asked them to make effective use of their training to earn livelihood and thus to support their families.

He appreciated the Women Empowerment Centre officials for conducting training courses to empower rural and tribal women in and around Paloncha. Self employment was always a better option for a person to make a good earning, he added.

Nava Bharat Ventures Limited Vice President V Srinivasa Murthy informed that in the current year about 800 women were offered vocational training. The certificates given by the centre would help the women to gain employment.

The company would also provide work to the trained women by engaging them in school uniforms production, he said, reminding the women who were trained by the centre have earned a handsome income by manufacturing face masks during the corona lockdown period.

Speaking on the occasion a woman Madhavi, who completed training thanked Nava Bharat for offering them free coaching while private training centres were collecting huge amounts as fee.

The centre officials T Aruna, K Rajeshwar Rao, M Suresh, Y Venkateswarlu were present.
