Taking a break from her hectic election campaign at Kodishanpally Tanda in Papannapet mandal, TRS’ Medak candidate Padma Devendar Reddy had a chat with Telangana Today. Excerpts from the interview:

Specific development works for women

I am keen on setting up food processing units in Medak Assembly constituency and involve women in these projects. It could be a good first step towards women empowerment in the district. Since Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao also has similar plans, I will request him to set up the units in my constituency on a priority basis.

Key promises for Medak people

Providing drinking water by completing the construction of 14 check dams and increasing the Ghanpur anicut are specifically for the people of Medak. I will also ensure the construction of double bedroom houses on their own land to all the homeless during the next term.

Developing tourist spots

We already made proposals to make Medak a tourism circuit by connecting Pocharam dam, Medak Fort, Medak Church, Edupayala Temple and other prominent tourist places by providing all basic amenities and transport facilities.

Major work done by you in previous term

Creating a separate Medak district and making Medak town its headquarters were a long-standing dream. Though Medak people elected even former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as MP from here, the national leader could not realise their dream. Our Chief Minister made it possible within couple of years with a sole objective of decentralising the power.
