Work to improve image of Police Dept: Pramod Kumar urges constables

Karimnagar: CID Inspector General of Police and Karimnagar in-charge DIG Pramod Kumar on Friday urged police officers of all ranks to make efforts to improve the image of the Police Department.

Pramod Kumar was speaking after inaugurating a training programme for newly selected police constables at the Police Training College here.

He said while Border Security Force was in the hands of Central forces, internal security was the responsibility of Police Department. Police should utilise every opportunity that would help enhance the image of Police Department.

Besides maintaining good behaviour with complainants, police should register complaint by listening to people’s problems patiently. Uniform services delivery had been implemented in all police stations across the State. Right from the registration of the case to investigation, there should be a similar response to a particular case in every police station, he said.

Getting jobs in Police Department was a great opportunity and it was only Police Department which provides an opportunity to serve all sections of the society, he said.

Policemen who concentrate on use of technology and develop work skills as part of changing trends would be more successful in their duties, he added.

PTC principal V Sunitha Mohan, Additional DCP (Administration), K Chandra Mohan, DSPs Ravi Kumar, D Chandraiah and Srinivas and others participated in the programme.
