Works worth Rs 3.25 cr kick off in Warangal

Warangal Urban: Mayor Nannapuneni Narender said that the government was striving for the development of the city as Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had been evincing special interest in developing the city.

He along with Warangal East MLA Konda Surekha and Corporator Sarada Joshi laid foundation for construction of nine CC roads, drain boxes and sewage canals in 15 division on Thursday. The estimated cost of these works is Rs 3.25 crore and these funds have been sanctioned under Special Development Funds (SDF).

Speaking on the occasion, Narender said that the Chief Minister was giving special priority to Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) in fund allocation.

Konda Surekha said that she had sent proposals to the State government to take up development works worth Rs 40 crore in her constituency and stressed on the need for special focus on the development of this ‘backward constituency’.
