Workshop on Dr BR Ambedkar’s philosophy concludes at KU

In a press note here on Tuesday, Director of the centre, Dr Gade Sammaiah said 105 participants from different parts of the State and different departments of KU registered for the workshop.

Warangal Urban: Dr BR Ambedkar Studies Centre, Kakatiya University, Warangal, successfully conducted a 10-day workshop on Dr BR Ambedkar’s philosophy and movement from April 5 to 14.

In a press note here on Tuesday, Director of the centre, Dr Gade Sammaiah said 105 participants from different parts of the State and different departments of KU registered for the workshop. “We received around 35 abstracts for oral presentations and 13 full papers,” he added.

Akunuri Murali Director General, Telangana State Archives, Hyderabad, participated in the workshop as keynote speaker, and Kakatiya University, Vice Chancellor, R Sayanna was the chief guest.

Guests of honour were Professor K Purushotham, Registrar, Kakatiya University and Professor M Sarangapani, UGC Coordinating officer and Dr G Hanumanth, president, SC/ST Employees association, Kakatiya University, Dr Pulla Srinivas, secretary,  SC/ST Employees association, Kakatiya University, also attended the programme

Dr RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary, Social and Tribal Welfare, Telangana, Dr V Mohan Rao, Vice Principal, Kakatiya Medical College spoke on the role played by Dr BR Ambedkar in framing Indian Constitution. Retired Professor, Kancha Ilaiah, Department of Political Sciences, Osmania University was the chief guest.

Dr PJ Sudhakar, Additional Director General, Information and Broadcasting, Banna Ilaiah, Principal, University Arts and Science College, Kakatiya University, Dr P Rajani, Gynaecologist, MGM, Retired Professor G Bhadru Naik, Department of History, Kakatiya University, Dr DV Srilakshmi and others also spoke at the workshop.
