Yadadri-Bhongir: In a major jolt to Congress in Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency, former Alair MLA and DCC president Budida Bikshamaiah Goud has decided to quit the party and join the ruling TRS protesting the denial of social justice in allocation of party tickets by the Congress high command.
Announcing his decision at a media conference here, Goud said that he had requested the party high command to provide opportunity to BC candidates from any one of two Lok Sabha constituencies in erstwhile Nalgonda district, but it fell on deaf ears. He objected to the injustice meted out to Backward Classes in the Congress party. “I will resign from the DCC president’s post and join the TRS soon along with my followers,” he said, adding that his followers had always backed him in all situations.
Stating that welfare schemes taken up by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had attracted him towards TRS, Goud held Komatireddy brothers responsible for his defeat from Alair Assembly constituency twice. He was leaving the Congress opposing Komatireddy brothers, who were the reason for denial of social justice in party tickets by the Congress in the district. He has also promised to work for the victory of TRS candidate of Bhongir Lok Sabha Constituency in the ensuing elections with good majority.
