Hyderabad: The missing case of a youngster in Jawaharnagar has turned out to be a murder, that too by his own parents and sibling. The police arrested five persons in connection with the murder here on Wednesday.
The arrested persons were identified as P Sandeep, 21, Shaik Faiz alias Shaik Musthaq, 19, G Sandeep Kumar alias Sunny 21, P Srinivas, 45, and his wife P Manemma, 41, both outsourcing sweepers at the Kapra Municipality. All the five were residents of Vamupuguda Colony in Kapra.
P Sai Kumar, 24, the youngster who was killed was reportedly addicted to alcohol and had frequent fights with his brother Sandeep, and parents Srinivas and Manemma.
Even after repeated warnings and requests, he continued with his behaviour. According to the Jawaharnagar police, on the night of April 26, Sai Kumar came home in an inebriated condition and picked up a fight with his mother and assaulted her. Sandeep was furious about this, and decided to eliminate him. His parents, who too were vexed with Sai, agreed to the killing.
Sandeep, Shaik Faiz and Sandeep took Sai to a secluded place near their house and while he was in an inebriated condition, smashed his head with boulders. “He died on the spot. The body was abandoned in the bushes by the gang which went absconding,” police said.
The family lodged a complaint stating that Sai was missing only on May 3, presumably to mislead the police and delay the probe. The police booked a missing case and even as investigation was on, got a tipoff a week later from a villager, who overheard one of the suspects having a conversation with another local about the murder.
“We detained them for questioning and they confessed to the killing,” the police said, adding that the suspects were arrested one after the other. They were produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
