Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress Party leaders at the district plenary meeting here on Sunday resolved to strengthen the party and work for achieving victory in the 2019 elections for developing Andhra Pradesh.

The party in-charge of the district and former Minister Parthasarathy, former Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and Balireddi Satyarao, MLAs Giddi Eswari and Budi Mutyalanaidu, former MLAs Tynala Vijaya Kumar, Malla Vijaya Prasad, Tippala Gurumurthy Reddy and Karanam Dharmasri and others vowed to bring pressure on the Government to complete the Polavaram project speedily, and to implement the AP State Reorganisation Act in letter and spirit.

They also said that the failure of the Centre and State with regard to release of special package funds and other failures of the government would be taken to the people so as to create awareness among them. The day-long meeting at the Port Kalavani stadium drew a large number of party functionaries from all over north Andhra. Addressing the gathering, Parthasarathy said that effort would be made to strengthen the party organisation by selecting effective booth committees.

All the aspects discussed at the district plenary would be taken up at the State-level plenary to be held at Amaravati on July 8 and 9, Satyanarayana said that the Telugu Desam Party leaders were involved in huge land scam. The State and Central governments were cheating people by not implementing any of the promises made in the bifurcation Act and the Janmabhoomi committees of the ruling party resorted to large scale corruption and atrocities in every village.
