Zaheerabad traders to shut shops for 10 days from July 17

The traders have followed the footsteps of Sadhashivapet traders, who announced a week-long shut down from July 16.

Sangareddy: In view of ever-increasing Covid-19 positive cases, the Chamber of Commerce-Zaheerabad has decided to shut all the business establishments for over 10 days from July 17 onwards.

The Traders body, which conducted a review meeting on Monday over the spread of the novel coronavirus, has resolved to shut their shops to help the government to contain the spread of the virus.

The traders have followed the footsteps of Sadhashivapet traders, who announced a week-long shut down on Sunday from July 16. Both the towns were located on the busy NH-65 in Sangareddy district. The Zaheerabad town has recorded over 50 positive cases.

On Sunday, three doctors of Area Hospital and five nurses were tested positive while another private doctor also tested positive. On last Sunday, the town has reported 11 positive cases. To join hands with district administration in containing the spread of the novel Coronavirus, the Chamber of Commerce has decided to go for a lockdown.

Meanwhile, the Sanagreddy district has recorded 18 positive cases on Tuesday at 5 pm taking the total positive cases in the district to 589 and active cases to 468. The officials were also gearing up to open an exclusive 100-bed Covid hospital on the premises of MNR Medical College in a couple of days to treat the virus-infected patients.
