UNESCO on Wednesday inscribed Deepavali on its Intangible Cultural Heritage list, marking a global recognition of one of India’s most celebrated festivals. The announcement came during the ongoing 20th session of the Intergovernmental Committee at Delhi’s Red Fort, the first hosted by India.
