"I like stories that take people into unexplored areas of their minds and hearts. 'Lipstick Under My Burkha' was one such story as is 'Sir Sir Sarla'. Both characters gave me a lot to think about and challenged me creatively and personally to go beyond my comfort zone.
I spend a lot of time in Kolkata and I am surrounded by Bengalis. My brother-in-law is a Bengali. My first director Ribhu Dasgupta (of the TV series 'Yudh') is Bengali.
