Shami, formerly with Gujarat Titans, missed the previous season due to knee surgery. He made his comeback to competitive cricket earlier this month, playing for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy. Shami is expected to join the Indian team in Australia for the latter part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
