The moves provide a fresh lease of life to the debt-ridden teleco, which otherwise faced payments of nearly Rs 18,000 crore by March 2026 and similar amounts every year for the next six years
The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has frozen Vodafone-Idea's AGR dues of Rs 87,695 crore, allowing the compnay to start paying from FY2031-32 and clear the amount by 2040-41
Also, no proposal is under consideration at present on the allocation of 5G spectrum to state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, Dhotre said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
