Andhra Pradesh Municipal Minister P Narayana noted that the TDP-led NDA government needs 5,000 acres of land to build an airport similar to Shamshabad Airport in Hyderabad and another 2,500 acres each to accommodate smart industries and an international sports city respectively
Director General of Police Rajendranath Reddy said the permission was not given for Maha Padyatra as there was apprehension of breach of peace during padyatra proposed from Amaravati to Arasavalli in Srikakulam district.
The Deputy CM made these remarks in reaction to the continuing indefinite protests being carried out by farmers from the Amaravati region against the trifurcation of the capital city.
