Thirteen Bangladeshi fishermen were detained by marine police in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district after their boat drifted into Indian waters. Stranded at sea for 15 days without food or fuel, they reached Musavanipeta in Etcherla mandal.
Cyclone Montha is expected to make landfall along the Andhra coast on Tuesday, bringing heavy rain to northern Tamil Nadu. Chennai and Tiruvallur schools will remain closed, with civic authorities on high alert to manage flooding and safety precautions.
